Sleeping late at nights
« on: July 30, 2013, 18:23:35 pm »
Hi, i have a 13 months old baby boy. Our routine is like that
07:00 - 07:30 Wu
10:45-12:00 nap 1
15:00-16:00 nap 2
Then i am putting him in his crib at 19:00 but he doesn't want to sleep, he plays there until 10pm, i am gonna be crazy. How can i make him sleep early.

In the mornings after 3 and a half hour activity he falls asleep and i put him in his bed, after 15min he sleeps on his own. Each of his naps are like this but in the evening after 4pm he is awake for 6hours.
Please help about my problem.

Hi there. It sounds to me like he might be getting a little too much day sleep and although he's ok on 3.5hrs A during the daytime overall this would leave his day too short to cope with a longer night. This is probably the beginning of the 2-1 transition. Have you read any of the threads about this?

Maybe try here:

From 2 to 1 nap transition (10-12m and older)

I think your LO probably comes into the fourth category. Have a think about whether you'd like to try shortening the first or second nap and see how you get on.

Hth

Hi hon, how did last night go? Are there signs of any other issues? E.g. Teething or other discomfort. If not, it might be that 30 mins isn't quite long enough, perhaps try a 45 minute CN for a few days and see if that helps.

Glad to hear it, it could just have been he became a bit OT while adjusting. Glad to hear there's been an improvement.
