Hello,

My LO slept over 12 hrs last night, about 30 mins more than usual. I should have moved her nap from 12.30 to 13.00 today to compensate, but I wasn't thinking....I left her in her bed for an hour but she didn't nap. I tried the car also, but she was happy talking. She woke up at 7.10 am today. When should I put her to bed so she doesn't get too tired? She usually goes to bed around 19.00 ( and sleeps until 6.30 or 6.45 am) She usually naps 12.30-14.15 approx.

Hope someone can help.
Thanks.

Early!  I would try 5:30, 6 at the latest.  My DD was about the same as yours the first time she skipped her nap, and she slept 5:45pm-8am!  Hope it works out.  Hugs, that first time is scary!

She might, but she might not  :P. She'd be more than ready for bed after no nap though, and when else is she going to catch up?  Also if she woke at 7:10 and that was half an hour earlier than usual, is she normally up at 6:40?  So your day wouldn't be too far off

At 6.10 she was in bed, fell asleep right away...fingers crossed. Will let you know tomorrow. I would hate to go back to a 6 am, 12 noon nap, 6.30 pm BT. She has just started sleeping late (6.30 am or later) after a long stretch of teething NWs and EWs.

Has yours been skipping naps or just now and then?

Thanks.

Some do, but then at least it's 12 hrs rest not 10 which is what she may pull if OT :P

Also, lots of LOs surprise yu and tack on. My toddler is pulling 14 hr nights sometimes ATM in his nap dropping :o

Mine skipped naps v occasionally ( the first few times were due to travel or badly timed poop, not just because she refused), like maybe 3 or 4 times between 21-24 months.  Since she turned 2 things have got a little weird, but it seems like that's really common around 2nd birthdays so I'm not convinced that regular naps are done already!  But the EBT has saved us from some serious OT, and I've found the same as Sara that DD will do 14hrs, and 12.5 at the very least.

Hello,

She slept from 6.10 pm - 5.30 am, cried out, 5.40 cried out, rested or slept until 6.15, when I gave her milk, rested again until 6.40, when I got her up. So when do I do nap today, 12.15 or later?

I'd try to get back to whatever is your usual routine.
