Idk...i thought my ds was really lsn and especially since nap dropping averaging on 9.5-11h Nights BUT since coming out of the other side (touch wood i havent jinxed this!) Hes doing 12h+ nights which he has never done in his 3 years. I dont expect it to last cos i know a lot is cu from really bad ot...so i wouldnt rule out ot yet. The long nws and insistence on Staying awake was exactly what my ds was.doing...however you have a plan so stick with it and see how he gets on...tbh ihad to lengthen our day to 7 then 7.30 cos the 5am wus.were.not going away with ebt!

anyway good luck and dont despair if plan a fails you already have a plan b  ;)

Last time we had 12hr+ nights was a phase following the 2-1 drop. It didn't last.  It would be so lovely if he'd do 12hrs STTN, isn't that every parent's dream, but I just don't see it happening until he's 17, well perhaps not even then but at least I won't have to get up at the same time as him when he is 17 :)

His mood today really didn't seem OT, but on other days (like last week) he was getting really tired, too tired for dinner for example and getting grouchy.  Perhaps he has caught up already.
Bah, it's all speculation, I can't even judge it on NWs pre-midnight because he has stress dreams any time of the night whether he is OT or not  ::)

At least no long be seems an improvement. Fwiw k seemed ut at this time when he was waking but the fact he tacted on with ebt reassured me he wasn't. Do you really think he can be it when he has just nap dropped? I found with both of mine three did longer nights when dropped nap. Even b who was always an awful night sleeper. Iiwm I would stick with 6pm by for a week and reassess.

Yes I'll stick with 6pm BT for the rest of the week, I know it would take some time to see an improvement if it was going to, I'll give it a good go.

Thing is, tonight with 6pm BT he didn't go to sleep until 6.50pm, he did have a micronap in the car today but I can't stop those - or rather I'm not willing to stay home, he needs his outdoor play, trips out and stimulation or else he sleeps even less.  The way it *looks* is that he'll do 6.30 BT without a real fight (yeah he moans about it when OT but he goes down ok) but if I try 6.00 he is UT so messes around until much later.
Yesterday when he did go to sleep at 6pm (no nap) he still only did 12hrs because morning WU was earlier.
A 7pm BT with a 6.30 WU, if he had a decent night would be 11.5hrs which is roughly what he was having pre nap drop. Absolute max of 12.5hrs but not every day.

Kicking myself tonight. If I'd gone to bed at 7pm I could have had 4hrs almost undisturbed sleep myself!  I never go to bed early to catch up because I always expect him to be disturbed and I find it harder to deal with it if I've already gone to sleep.

Methinks you need an early one tonight to catch up from your own OT - can someone stay for the early part of the evening so you can sleep?

Last night was a good night!
He went to sleep 6.50 (after 6pm PD), had a couple of grunts and grumbles through the night (usual) and only one NW which was an anxiety dream and quickly soothed with reassurance.  I *think* I helped him to the potty for a wee too although tbh was so tired I did it all on auto and can't really remember!
WU was good - not sure when as he just got his books and read once his lights were on but I suspect his morning lights woke him or he only woke shortly before.  He didn't wake me until 7am :)
The amount of energy he had this morning was crazy after roughly 12 hrs sleep, he was full of beans. I felt a whole lot better myself too.

I'm feeling much better, thank you for being so caring.  Today I had a nasty fall down the stairs and really hurt my ankle (wondered if I needed to go for x-ray but I can put weight on it, just can't bend it at all, so perhaps just a pulled muscle and swelling) and literally dragged myself to the phone to call DP to come take care of DS.  I got some rest when they went out to the park and an hour sleep whilst DP did bath and bed.  He didn't get DS down for 6pm but neither of them are used to Daddy doing BT so it was amazing it went so smoothly.
Sleep at 6.20 which is earlier than when I did the 6pm BT. No nap today and a very long walk to and from the park too. I hope DS is not so tired he NWs and EWs again. Lets just hope this is the end of our hiccup.

Hmm..I did initially think 'cr@p it's broken' but the pain subsided, did wonder about a small fracture or something. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Hope ds let you sleep last night.

Not a bad sleep last night. One stress dream and up at 5.15am, 11hrs total.  Shame he didn't go back to sleep after the 5.15 WU though.
It seems we are past the long NWs though (one or two anxiety dreams are standard for him this year, I am convinced it is related to trying to be night dry, just have to go with it). Thanks for the help.
