UT naps
« on: January 07, 2014, 23:52:06 pm »
Just wondering, what does an UT nap look like?
My 11 wk old nods off okay by himself but will often wake at 30mins (which I realise is OT/OS) but is difficult to resettle. A time is generally reasonable temperament wise, I feed when about 3hrs and then start another wind down nappy change etc, and he's in his cot, about 10mins after his feed finished he's asleep. (but not actually fed to sleep). this sleep is then usually much better... or longer anyway. I also have 2 lo's running around so OS is a big possibility but also makes resettling difficult.

any ideas?

An UT nap is often 45mins, wake up happy and won't resettle as they are just not tired enough.  In terms of going down UT it can be opposites - either chatty and playing instead of sleeping, or screaming in protest!

Are you just wondering about UT or did you want some eyes on your DS's naps?  If so do you want to post your day in EAS format?

I would post my Easy if I thought it would help, but our days are consistently inconsistent time wise... We have structure in regards to how we go for sleeps but that is about it.
Today is definitely shot, life got in the way again, but tomorrow might be better!

I was just after general UT info, I had a feeling I wasn't giving L enough A time. Now it's just a matter of tweaking to figure out what his A time is and how long after short naps etc. He gets cranky 45min after waking and then starts sucking his hands then too (he has a dummy to sleep with it). I was putting him down then but realise now that the crying (which wasn't a worked up OT cry) is from protesting not OS.

He was EW but was also doing at least 5hours with no wakeups from DF at night. When he did sleep longer than 30m, resettling was not an issue nor was the dummy.
