How to encourage DD to take bigger NFs?
« on: February 09, 2014, 04:28:42 am »
H keeps nodding off during NFs soon after she's started.  But I've noticed that when she takes a small nf she's up again much sooner than if she takes a bigger feed.

I've tried unswading her, burping her, changing her nappy but often she's still too sleepy to take (much) more.

Any other ideas on how I can encourage her to take more at night?

I used to strip James down to his diaper and feed him that way from the first side, then I'd change his diaper and get him dressed again between sides (which would wake him up again), burp him, reswaddle, see if he'd take any more, and then put him back down.  It's hard when they're so sleepy!  I'd say even with all that, he'd still nod off sometimes anyway.

I was amazed at how well dh slept through night feeds, even when they were taking place next to him ::)
