HELP Please!! 7 Month old waking early
« on: April 14, 2014, 14:48:26 pm »
Recently our schedule has been completely out the window and I'm struggling to get back on track.  We first started having issues with naps as it was so difficult to get her to go to sleep.  After a couple days I realized she wasn't tired (duh!) so her activity time is now between 3-3.5hrs and sometimes 4hrs.
We were strolling along pretty good but now she is waking at 6:00am or 6:30am when she has always been a consistant 7am waker. This small change is really throwing things off.  I'm struggling with this difference for two reasons - 1. I'm tired! and don't want to get up that early. 2. It's messing up our daytime schedule.
Her bedtime has always been 7pm so we have started pushing it later so it now falls between 7:30 or 8pm but she is still waking early.
It messes with our schedule because at times she is too tired to get through the morning.  When she wakes at 6:30am I can usually get her through to 9:30 or 10am but this morning for example she woke at 6am and was yawning by 8am so I put her down for a nap.
Maybe this doesn't sound like such an issue to some but I'm trying to get back on track to a good schedule of more consistancy throughout the days and I'm not sure how to go about it.
If I work on nailing down our daytime routine do you think it will correct the mornings? Or is there anything else I can try?
I'm feeling so lost  :(

Last night she was too tired to make it past 7pm BT and was up at 5:30am! I couldn't get her back to sleep for the life of me

Could you post a "typical" day? Any signs of teeth? Any new developmental stuff or skills?

A typical day is:
E: wake at 7am - BF
A: 7:30am (she eats breakfast between 8:30-9am)
S: 10am (usually 1 - 1.5hrs)
A: 11am
E: Lunch (real food) 12-12:30am
A: 1pm
She'll sometimes have a "booby snack" a bit before her afternoon nap
S: 2:30/3pm (1hour)
A: 4pm
E: Dinner (real food) 5pm
A: We do bath time starting around 6:15 followed by some quiet play and wind down with lotion and jambes, bottle then quick story
S: 7pm  She goes to sleep easy after a little chatter to herself in her crib and sleeps through the night

So that's a typical day - I haven't seen this day for sometime now :(  Everything is way off track

One thing I think may be interrupting her morning is it's getting lighter outside so early.  We have just ordered a room darkening shade and in the meantime we have put a blanket up to keep it dark in there.  The light has never bothered her in the past so it didn't occur to me that it may be waking her early.  This morning she started to stir at 6am but went back to sleep until 6:30.
She is not teething and as far as new things going on there isn't anything really new but things are changing all the time.  She's been on solids for a couple months now, she's onto finger foods already.  She is not crawling but is getting around on her tummy pretty good - she isn't really showing interest in getting up on her knees to crawl, pretty content to pull herself around.  I would say she has a mild bit of separation anxiety - very mild - for example when she is tired she gets really whiney and wants me to hold her or to sit on my lap while she plays. Otherwise she's social and good with other people - yesterday I was able to leave her with a friend and her baby for couple hours while I went to an appt and she was totally fine.
