Quick help - how long should I let her sleep?
« on: April 30, 2014, 18:54:40 pm »
So long story, which I will save for another thread...but this is dd2s day so far

7:30 wakeup
A 7hr15min  :o
Nap 2:45-?

She needed 7.5hrs before bed lastnight, is lsn, AND in a wonder week...and I would love to have her asleep before 10pm tonight.  So how long should I let her sleep for her nap now that shes finally decided she is tired?

Normal nap is from 1-2:30pm which will give 10pm bedtime and 7:30am wakeup.  If it were dd1 I would wake at 4pm, but even with her we would have had bedtime silliness with that wakeup time...so if I am brave enough go for 45min total nap?  Lol, I can't believe I even have to post this question at not even 14mo!

Not necessarily! I have a lsn 8 month old who needs 4.5/5 hrs A before bed! I live in fear of what happens next. We are on one nap already! Fx bedtime is okay.

Bahahha!  All bets are off and expectations are very low with this one!  I predict no nap by 18mo!

Lol I thought mine was low dropped to one nap at 11mth now at 16mth I m only having 1.5hr nap n even that causes night wake plus she is teething molars now. I am thinking to myself shall i cut her nap to 1.15hr or 1hr to ride out teething first. She is waking up for 2-3hra at night n not going back to sleep even with meds. After reading ur post I think I might just cut the nap short n see if it makes a difference.

Lol tink, you keep me sane! We're still getting UT naps on 7hrs A time - going to try extending his morning A a bit today. It sounds ridiculous to me, but the best nap he's had all week was after an A of 8hrs  :o Apparently he woke up really happy from it, but then wasn't tired at bedtime almost 5hrs later. I seriously think we'll be on nnds by 18 months too, if not before.

Bring on the freedom of no naps!  (You've got to keep positive, eh?!)

Lol, LL&J  ;D

So she was up for about 6hrs A after her 1hr nap  :o

It is 7:30am and she is still asleep, I heard her stirring lastnight, but she settled herself and she didnt have a single nw, so not even ot...I usually only let her sleep until 8am, so I will probably wake her up if she isnt up by then.  I am so tempted to just let her sleep and see if she can manage a no nap day!  She did 7hr15min A after a 9.5hr night, surely if she gets a good night sleep she should be able to do a no nap, or short cn day  :-\

Jack has been mostly coping on 40 minute naps lately. Not on purpose, but hey! He's currently alternating long and short nap days pretty much.  If he has a 40 minute nap day, he's fine at night but is tired the next day.  As long as I keep him up the next day as well, he'll do a longer nap the next day. If I do an earlier nap to account for him being tired he does a short nap and gets OT.  At least I think that's what's going on!
