Could my 14mo really looking for a night feed again?
« on: May 22, 2014, 07:33:45 am »
DS has sttn since he was 10mo, going from 7pm-6am without a feed. He's now 14mo & usually eats really well during the day. I've been posting on toddler sleep as we're having a lot of trouble with EW, which I think is a problem with his nap routine. Last night he stayed at my mums, woke at 5.15, she gave him milk & he went back to sleep until 6.20. Typical day's eating looks like this:

6am 150ml milk
Breakfast: cereal & fruit with 50-75ml milk
Mid morning snack: toast & water
Lunch: soup, sandwich (fish, egg or chicken or cheese) filling, fruit or salad sticks, water
Mid afternoon snack: fruit or veg sticks, yogurt or milk
Tea: meat or fish with pasta/rice/potatoes or veg then fruit if still hungry, water to drink
    6pm: 100ml milk

He eats good size portions, could he really be waking from hunger at 5am?

I'd think it unlikely to be honest.  Wakings from hunger are pretty unusual at this age, it's more likely that the waking was routine-related (as you say you've had issues) and the milk just relaxed him enough to be able to drift off again :)
