Temperature of food seems to be an issue
« on: May 23, 2014, 21:43:27 pm »
Hi! My DS is a bit over 6 months old. I've done some purees and he's never really shown a huge interest. I make them myself and then serve them warmed up after being frozen. The other night, I gave him avocado (room temp) and he ate an entire half of one. Then last night I tried again - but it had been in the refrigerator and therefore was cold. He did not like it cold - wouldn't eat it. I heated it up and he still didn't go for it.

Is this common to have temperature issues? It seems too hot is not good and cold is not good either. And I don't give him anything too hot - just warmed in the microwave and I test it first and it's lukewarm.

My kids have all had preferences one way or another - they all liked their bottle almost hot but DD1 & 3 like food lukewarm where DD2 likes her food hot (she would not eat ice cream or popsicles until she was 4/5 yrs old!).

Well, my theory was wrong. I served a room temperature avocado tonight and he didn't eat it. Oh well, worth a try :)

Maybe he'd just had enough avocado for now.
