Baby 3 months and sleep only 45' per nap.
« on: June 27, 2014, 15:43:17 pm »
hi ladies,

my baby is 12week. I applied 3 hours EASY for her when she 10 week and to now. But, there have problems, so please give me an adivce.

1.  her sleeping is only 45'- 1h/ nap in day. Sleeping in night quite ok. I dont know how she just sleeping in short time like that? what's problem with her EASY schedule?

2.  Now, I want to turn her EASY from 3h to 3.5h but I concern the catnap because she has a habit of sleeping around 30-45' from 5 pm to 6pm. Here her EASY schedule of 3h.

E: 7 am:  Wake up and feed
A: 7.45 am:
S: 8.15 am: ( she only sleep 45'- 1h, time remain she plays alone in her bed)

E: 10 am
A: 10.45am
S: 11.15am ( same above)

E: 1pm
A:1.30 pm
S: 2pm

E: 4 pm
A: 4.30 pm
S: 5 pm- 6pm ( catnap)
E: 6pm
A: 6.30 pm ( bath)
S: 7pm.

I turn to 3.5H Schedule look like:

E: 7
A: 7.15
S: 8.30

e: 10.30
A: 11
S: 12

E: 2
A: 2.30
S: 3.30 - 4.30 ( catnap)

E: 5 or 5.30 ?
Because my daughter have the habit of sleeping around 5- 6pm - catnap ( from 3h easy schedule), so when turn to 3.5h, I dont know the schedule  that apply for her like what? So please give me some advice of 3.5 hour example for this situation.

thank so much.

Hi there, and welcome.

45 minute naps are a developmental stage most babies go through around 3-4 months as they learn to transition between sleep cycles.  However they can also happen if LO is not going to sleep independently (how does she go to sleep?) or if A times need adjusting.  Often a 45 minute nap with a happy wakeup indicates LO needs a little more awake time, although (confusingly) 45 minute naps can also happen when LO is overtired.

These links might give you some ideas about what others are doing at this age and some useful tips:
Sample EASY Routines from 0 - 13mths+
short naps at 3-4 months? Take it easy, it will get better!
