Cant figure out
« on: September 11, 2014, 13:25:45 pm »
Im back at work now and as u can imagine it is difficult because im no longer in control of LOs sleep during the day. My mum is having him this whole month and they are having a blast and she is really good with naps schedules etc.

What I cant figure out is this 1 hour nap that he does, i cant work put whether this is OT or UT.

4hours A time in the morning gives us a 35 minite nap
4.20A gives us an hour and most of the time can be resettled.

I assume he needs more A time?

It is so difficult because im not there with him. He will be 11months  at the end of September.

6.15wu
10.35nap-11.35/12.10.   4.20A
4.20-4.50.                        4.10A
8.13BT.                             3.25

9.05, 9.45 woke after Bt, sitting up and rubbing eyes half asleep

He had these A times for about a month i reckon, before it was pretty solid that he would have 1.20 nap after 4.20A, so i guess he needs more A time.

And he started waking after BT again, whilst before would sleep solidly for 3-3.5 hours afyer BT. Im at loss, he is going to the childminders soon and would like to have somethibg a bit more concrete in terms of rputine for her to work to.

I don't know if that is a valuable comment, but I am afraid it will change once again when he will be at CM. It's not the same as nursery I guess, but still it will be different. Usually their are ready for a nap earlier or sleep longer after the same A as at home.

I'd be tempted to push to one nap if you don't think the problem is OT? If he's been LSN and high As most his life then 11-12 mths can be 1 nap territory. Both my boys were solidly on one nap by 11-12 mths. We threw in a pm CN on EW days or when the nap was short and I couldn't ap back to sleep. Also threw in lots of EBT.

Something like this could be worth trying.
WU 6.15
A 4hrs45
Nap 11-2 (let sleep as long as he likes - try to ap back to sleep if nap is less than 1.5 hrs)
A 4.5-5
Bt 6-6.30

Or if you think it's possible OT then pull that first A back 30 mins and see how the nap goes. If it's a bust you do a 2 nap day and concede it's probably not OT. X

I think we meed to push A times, but i dont think he is ready for one nap yet. He settles fine for all naps, bat the fact that he likes to crawl about for a bit before naps and i have to lay him back down a few times.

Im finding that although he settles ok for BT he wakes after 40-50 minutes and teb after 2 hours and well tonight it took me an hour to settle him its almost like he isnt tired enough YK? He was desperately trying to settle but just couldnt, was rolling about and then started crying and tryibg to roll and crawl.

I guess i need to push that first nap a bit more....
