32 months-is this 1-0?
« on: November 19, 2014, 09:34:00 am »
Morning
Just after a few eyes! We've had a good run of late!
WU 6:30/7
Nap 1:15-2:15
BT 7

Last few days he's mucked about at nap, but always gone to sleep and had 1hr-he's v v. Grumpy on waking!

And the BT has been mucking, saying needs the loo, and an extra book etc, last night was nearly 8 before settled, then had 2 NW-not had for ages!!! Nearly always an OT sign for us-so is he needing to drop nap to maintain night? I think the NE  last night were OT. From later BT???
Thanks for any advice x

Hello Hun,

Well, the situation you describe could well be the start of the 1-0. Has his routine been a 12 hour day with a 1 hour nap  ??? I think IIWM I would be tempted to shoot for a later BT as a first port of call, there is room in the day to shoot for that, what do you think  ??? I'm posting a link for you, in case you haven't seen it, there's a lot of useful info here for you. I wrote it myself after learning a lot from Sam's 1-0, I mean seriously, I thought one day he would just stop napping and sleep longer at night. Every the optimist  ;)

The 1-0 transition...Advice and Tips to help you through.

(HUGS)

Thanks Vicki
Yes he's been having 12hr day and 1hr nap-
My issue with later BT is 2 fold-he's in bunk beds with his older bro who at nearly 6 is hsn and literally we're lucky to get him till 7 after school etc! 2nd I start work at 7pm so need to have them settled so I can log onto my PC and be there for 7!
Yest I let him have htc he again as he was tired from up in the night-on waking I brought him down and I had a conference call-he wrapped himself in a blanket and went back to sleep for another 30 min!!
At BT he came downstairs, I put him back to bed and he was out v quick
Nw at 4:40 (wanted water) and then 15 min later he was still up in the bathroom??
WU at 6:10-but seriously not sure if he went back to bed or not!!!
Thinking I'll cut his nap to 45min and see what happens?? What do you think?
Thanks for your eyes on this and the link x

I would try 30-45 minutes for a good week and see if it helps. We had similar shenanigans with DD1 when she was 2.5 and I actually rropped her nap cold turkey to keep her bedtime the same as her baby sister! She was/is very spirited so ot was more the hyper excitable kind than grumpiness.

Hi, so def improvement as no more NW-he does seem shattered, and he's doing a lot of messing at nap/BT-namely climbing up into his brothers top bunk/needing another wee etc etc!
He's now prob on  12 hr sleep in 24hr period. He is really grouchy after nap, will keep at the 30/45 min mark! Do you time (as such) from when they're asleep? As I'm never sure-or given them a period of time in bed as such?

Glad there are improvements Sweetie :)

I used to time from when DS fell asleep, as best I could, as you can never be completely sure if you're not there. Sam was always grumpy after capped naps too.

Finger's crossed things even out for a while.x.
