Major Sleep Regression 16 month old1
« on: November 12, 2014, 02:36:25 am »
12-14 months, slept 12 hrs straight through the night.

In September/October started night wakings.  They are becoming more frequent, sometimes 4 times a night.  He's too big for PU/PD.

We do "fake" diaper changes and sometimes he goes back to sleep but lately sometimes we end up having to sit and rock him.  Please help.

Hi there! What does his day look like? Is he on one nap or two? What are the timing of nap(s) and bedtime/wake up? Sorry for all the questions, hopefully the answers will help us to help you!

One nap at day care for two hours at 12:30.  Bed time at 7:30 and wake up at 7.  There is no pattern to his waking up.  It is completely unpredictable.  Right now it's 4:30 am and he has been awake since 2:30.

Does he seem upset or happy at the nw? Just wondering if it is ut and maybe the nap needs capping or is he teething? Learning new skills? Sometimes it is hard to pin down an exact reason but if the wake ups are more of a playful/happy nature I would put my money on ut or developemental blip.

10% of the time he is happy and 90% he is upset.  He's pretty advanced for his age so it feels like he's hitting developmental milestones every day.

Seems developmental then really, not much to do but ride it out! What about teeth? Molars and then canines were both cause for issues here with mine!
