Cut the nap?!
« on: December 18, 2014, 20:41:58 pm »
Ugh so little miss G has always been v high A times and LSN. We've been at 1 nap since 8.5mos so why I'm surprised that we're here, I don't really know! ::)

At the minute she's up at around 7:30 and having a 1hr capped nap 1:30-2:30 but we're getting ridiculous BT resistance here and mainly she's not going to sleep before 8:30 and some nights it's been as late as 9:30/9:45! It's driving me insane as I'm getting loads of call backs and she's clearly UT.

So what do you think? Cut the nap? Push WU earlier?

Thanks x

If this has been going on for a while I do agree that you should do something. It seems your choices are:

1. Wake her earlier in the day;
2. Cope with the later BT;
3. Cap the nap a bit more and see if that helps; or
4. Cut the nap out and bring by back earlier again.

I might be tempted t try capping the nap shorter again to see if that helps, do you think she'd cope with a 30 min nap?

Thanks Naomi :-* she's had a few no nap days and been fine :o!!! She does still enjoy her nap though and when asleep she would sleep for a long time, plus MiL has a nap at the same time! I think I'll try cutting the nap to 45mins for the next week while I'm off and if needs be to 30mins in the second week. I'm reluctant to get rid of the nap especially as my ILs really enjoy the short break but its difficult when I'm trying to work in an evening and she's resisting BT. I can cope with 8pm but it's getting ridiculous!

Thanks xxx

I low what you mean - just before E dropped her nap we had some 9.30/10.30 asleep times and I was ready for sleep well before she was!

Sounds like a good plan :)
