setting an evening routine
« on: January 26, 2015, 16:47:34 pm »
This is the reason I have joined the forum after reading the book again I can't decide which way to go..

I have followed the Easy Plan with my 4 year old and again with my now 6 month old. She is such a "good baby" as I call her. Breast fed well until 5 months then went to a bottle. Slept easily and placed in cot she would drift off on her own on occasions ssh pat which worked famously until now! She slept thru at 3 months mostly between 6-7 am which I was happy with. Then things started to change. She would wake earlier around 430/5am for a couple nights then go until 630am very inconsistent. At this point she was still dream fed but wasn't finihsing Her bottles during the day and the early waking was getting worse so I dropped the dream feed at about 5 months as she was having breakfast and fruit and rice at tea time. She never wakes up crying she has never really cried in the cot just talking to herself and then seems to get frustrated after half hour or so and starts to shout! I've tried leaving her hoping she will drop off. I've tried ssh patting but after an hour now we get her up at 6am fearful of waking up my son.
I re introduced the dream feed incase she was hungry but didn't make a difference. In my opinion she is not hungry oh and last weigh in 2 weeks ago she was 18'8 always been a chunky baby!
I need help now... Having read the book I don't know whether to try wake to sleep or cluster feed somewhere between 3/4 and 7pm or feed her at 5am and out her back down! Sometimes at 5 after an hour she will eventually drop off again till 630/7 if she was hungry she wouldn't go back to sleep would she?

Thank you

What is her daytime routine like? Is she on 2 naps or still 3? It could be that the routine needs a tweak so if you would like to post your EASY we can take a look.

Is she still falling asleep independently or are you doing something different to get her to sleep for naps and BT now?
