6 months old-EW
« on: March 13, 2015, 07:52:51 am »
HELLO,
My DS is 6 months old and is wu 4 or 5am and sometimes it is impossible to put him back to sleep. He has been on EASY from the first days (as much as it was possible). Easy now is totally strange, because not every day is the same, yesterday it was:
WU 6am
E 7.30 bf
S 8.35-9.50
E 11.30 bf
S 12.20-14.20
E 14.30 solids, 16.30 bf
S 16.50-17.20
E 18.15 solids, 19.15 bf
S 19.45
He wu at 00.00 for bf and at 4am for bf, but than it took until 5.10am that he fall back to sleep, WU at 6am

I am aware that he will soon go for only two naps, and that maybe he gets enough sleep during the day so he doesn't need 12 hours at night, but he can't handle 3h A time to have to 2 naps only. He is not an is (yet) i help him with shh pat.
He doesn't complain about his catnap in the afternoon (yet).

Do you have any recommendations what to do...can i lengthen his day for a month or so, so he will have little bit more A time before NS, so he will go for NS after 2,5-3h A time, but when he will be on two naps i will shorten it again?

tnx for helping out!

Hi hun I think you need to cut out that CN really and maybe try EBT. Can you push A time for first nap by just 5 mins every 3 days and see how LO handles it?
I used to do last solids at 4pm then split feed in between bath and bed, when DS went to 2 naps we did a few 5.45 BT and he slept brill.

Ok, we tried and i looked like that yesterday:
Wu 6.40
E 8.30
S 9.25-11.45 (2h20)
E 12.20-solid, 14 bf
S 14.25-15.40
E 16.39-solids, 18.00
S 18.45
Wu 22h, 00, 2.30,5.30,7h

For the second nap he was really tired, and for NS he really couldnt calm down and it took 30 min to put him down. The night was also really restless. But it might be because yesterday he got an antibiotic because he has an abscess on his gluteal region:/ and i think it hurts him too probably.
Or do you think his A time was too long before NS?
Thnx!

Hi
It could be that it was pain related wake ups, I would prob try bringing BT maybe 15 mins earlier but those naps were decent lengths and a 12 hour day so it could be a mixture of both.
Does he get pain meds too? x

Yes he does, but today was not so good:
Wu 7
E 7.50
S 9.39-11
E 11.40, 13.00-solids
S 13.45-14.15 ( he didnt look tired, but i was watching A time and it was 2.45 and i was afraid of OT,-if you look average A times for his age, this is a lot. When he wu after 30 min he wasnt crying, but was just ok, it was impossible to put him back to sleep, is it possible he was UT?)
E 16

Day is not over yet, but in cases like this, do i put him down for 3 naps, because early bedtime in this case would be like at 17h?

So i have to try everyday to have only 2 naps, but if it is not possible than we go with 2, right?
Thnx!

Could be discomfort on 30 min or UT hard to tell sometimes...30 mins were often OT here.
On that short nap I'd offer a CN to get you to BT without being OT.
