Tired 12 week old who won't nap

I agree with Deb, it's always easier to extend if they don't fully wake. Have you read the wake-to-sleep link. How do I address habitual wakings? (wake-to-sleep and other methods)

If you're not there and he's awake yet content, I would leave him. You never know, he might go back to sleep. And if not, he's had quiet time and will hopefully learn that he can hang out happily in his crib for awhile.

If he wakes fully id start a new cycle, just fit in the E more or less as close as you can to the regular E interval.  If it means he feeds to sleep once, not the end of the world. When we went thru that, my motto was "Fake it till you make it...." or just "Fake it!" LOL

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. My son is going down for naps so much better now that we stuck with one routine consistently and figured out a better way to swaddle him. Thank you!
