7,5 A times
« on: May 08, 2015, 14:04:36 pm »
My son is 7,5 months old and he naps twice a day. I have a question about A times and sleep in general. In the morning he is ready for his nap after 3h and i can see signs sometimes, but in the afternon he can go almist 4h A time and without any signs of sleepines, and he wu after 30 min ususlly (OT probably). He refuses both naps, crying, he does that for last month when we did 3-2 transition. Should i just put him down at certain hour or should i wait for signs? Or should i wait for average A time for his age to be. He has been on easy since birth, he falls asleep with shh pat but sometimes without. We never manage to learn him to be IS, but his sleep was quite ok. During the night he wu twice for BF. And always 30min- 1h after i put him to sleep. He wu 7am, first nap 10-11.30, second nap 15 or 15.15-16.15. Bedtime 20.00, sometimes 20.15.
He sleeps only 10-11h at night, so if i put him down at 19, he wu at 6am, and than it goes earlier and earlier, he wu somedays at 5am! It was terrible.
And why he refuses to nap?
He also wu for last 3 days 30 min after nap, in the morning he goes to sleep back very quick-just some shh pat, but in the afternoon i have to cary and shh pat for 20min.
It would be strange that he is OT after 3h A time...but also i dont think he is UT.
Help please,
Love R
Thank you soooo much.

Many babies do need a longer A time before the pm nap. 30 minutes could also indicate UT - or maybe he is getting OT as he is finding it hard to go to sleep? I did find that with my DD, the pm nap was tougher as she needed to be calm & relaxed before being able to sleep - so we would walk around humming/singing before that and it would help a lot. I didn't wait to see sleepy signs though. I went by the clock because she could just keep going until she crashed!

I wonder if maybe a gradual push in both A times are in order?
Average A times- BOOKMARK ME!
