Hi there just came across your post and about a week ago I was going through the same thing at nights my lo getting up and standing in his cot then crying at the end of it I would end up bouncing him to sleep. I then started putting him in his cot and placing my hand on his chest stopping him from rolling and getting up and also patting or rubbing if I needed to. He struggles and cries and I just stay calm let him cry and say my key words then after 10 or so minutes he turns his head and goes to sleep. The last three nights he doesn't even cry just talks for 5 minutes the goes to sleep without any patting just hand on chest.

Thanks y'all! We're kinda just surviving right now, my sister is visiting from out of state so having company really mixes up the schedule.

I have noticed if I stay close to him he falls asleep faster. Maybe it's a developmental thing, he's getting worried about me leaving the room. I don't even have to pat him all the way to sleep. Just long enough to let him settle and relax, then just stay close.

It will be back to seriously business on Monday when my sister is gone though. But I'm glad I have this new trick up my sleeve. Thanks J Jack!
