Should I move bedtime?
« on: December 16, 2015, 08:56:23 am »
I have asked lots of questions on here and got some valuable advice.  So here's another.
Lo current try good overnight sleeper and will nap well in her cot if we are home. Not overly great on the go anymore, half hour here and there, but she is inquisitive!
Anyway, she is pretty much following a 4 hour easy at 16 weeks old, she has self managed this to a certain degree, the only interference from me was that I bit the bullet one day and started lifting her at 7am and she has stuck to that routine.
My question is, shouldn't bring her bedtime forward slightly if I'm having to rouse her at 7?
She currently has bath around 6:30pm followed by bottle 7:45pm and bed around 7:30-7:45. She does get sleepy feeding and will nod off on my shoulder after it but things because I have to keep her upright after for reflux. I do speak to her as I'm putting her down and all naps are self settled, down awake.
I did try an earlier bedtime about a week ago and I ended up taking an age cos she wouldn't settle, think she was undertired!!
Any suggestions or should I just try it again and see? Thanks in advance x

Some LO's can't do more than 11hrs overnight sleep. It's just the way they are. If she's falling asleep on your shoulder I would try and move BT a tad earlier to the 7.30pm time but otherwise I wouldn't try too much earlier if it didn't work before. Hth xx
