Looking for some tips for bending down into the crib to shh/pat or holding through jolts! My shoulders and back can't take it!!

I've pulled up a chair beside the crib, but my arms are pretty short and it's still a strain. Any suggestions?

What kind of crib?  Can you raise the mattress?

Can you reach through the bars? I used to do that with D instead of reaching in form the top.

Mattress is already as high as it will go, and the sides don't lower down. I also can't teach through the bars enough to hold both of LO's arms..I get stuck on the forearm!

HUGS
How about a firm pillow on the chair to elevate you even further?

Is sidecar-ing the crib to your bed an option? I've sat and patted in comfort, it really helped.
