18 month old sleep
« on: July 23, 2017, 18:10:43 pm »
Hi girls not been on for a while cruzs sleep finally figured it sed out nap wise bed time was fine everything ok
Nothing has changed but suddenly he goes to bed and he fights his sleep sometimes for up to a hour he just lies there babbling singing away to himself then sometimes has a moan winge before going to sleep
He has always gone to bed quite early 6.15/30 just works for us having another toddler who goes early aswell and a older boy who I like to have some time with before bed

Anyway routine wise is normally like this
6/6.30am - wake up
12-1/1.30 nap
6.15/6.30 bed
He use to go right of to sleep fine the only thing that has slightly changed is he seems to be napping longer in the day it use to just be a hour now sometimes he can sleep 2 right up til 2 I haven't been letting him and been waking him around 1.20 so a hour 20 nap

I want to keep bedrime really about 6.30 what should I change any ideas ?
Should I cut his nap down to a hour 12-1 ?
Could it jsit be a sleep regression ? He has had a ear infection to but is ok now x

Hi it could be SR but sorry to say I'd think his day needs extending too, he's prob a little UT at BT and if is SR then they need to be tired to get to sleep.  Can you not push BT to 7pm for a while to see if it helps the messing about?

I guess you could cap his nap but then they really still need a decent nap, guessing you don't want to wake him at 5.30 am to add the extra A time on that way!? It's a bit tricky as cutting his day sleep might make him OT as he's not rested enough for the rest of his day!?

Ya I think I'd be more inclined to push BT and keep a good nap, honestly a 2hr nap is normal at this age and probably what he actually needs to not be OT for bedtime.

1.5 should be fine and then just judge BT by mood so bring forward by 15 mins if needed x
