Can I overfeed?
« on: February 16, 2018, 10:59:06 am »
Help! My 4 month old is starting to take 10-12 oz at some feeds. Is this normal? Am I over feeding her? She is 15lb 12oz and has jumped from 10th percentile to 80th in 2 months on formula.

If it's just recently it could be a growth spurt - they do seem to take unbelievable amounts during a GS.

It is just recently so I’ll see. I guess I thought GS would mean more frequent but it makes sense. I just didn’t know she could do that!! I’m in awe. Thanks!

GSs are amazing. I really do not know how they fit that amount of milk/food into their tiny bodies.
It can be quite a surprise when they eat so much but after the GS try not to be too concerned the other way, us mums can get used to our LOs taking in larger amounts and then when it reduces we worry they are not taking enough.
There can be additional night feeds needed too.
