too much routine???
« on: August 17, 2005, 11:03:02 am »
My dd is now 9 months old and has been on EASY since she was several weeks old. The routine has been so great for us, but I sometimes wonder if it's worked TOO well! She sleeps great, eats great and is a very happy baby. My problem comes in when we are away from home and she is taken out of her routine...i.e. sleeping somewhere other than her cot is a huge problem. I dread going places when I know it will be her naptime! Is there anything I can do to get her to be more flexible?

Try and keep as much the same as possible.
We travelled a lot when dd was younger and I always took her blanky with me wherever we went. It has now become her lovey and it makes putting her to sleep anywhere really easy.
Other than that, just keep trying.....

I agree with Emma...along with a lovey I bring her regular blanket too...for the smell and familiarity.  If I'm out with a stroller I'll bring a blanket to cover the front so she can't see anything...she falls asleep a lot faster when not being able to see the world going on  :D
