Help with dreamfeed please!

Hi I am new to this site and just wondered if anyone could offer some advice on dreamfeeding?
Our ds is 7 weeks old and his basic eveing routine at the moment is as follows:
6.30pm Bath
6.45pm 6oz bottle
8.30-9.00 Asleep
I then try to dreamfeed at 10.30,on occasions where dreamfeed was successful he has then slept through til 6.30-7.00 next morning.
The problem we seem to have is that most of the time he will only take a couple of ounces of dreamfeed and if I keep trying to get him to take the bottle it makes him urge.
Should I not expect him to take 6 ounces for a dreamfeed?
During the day he has 4 6oz bottles so he still needs the 6 oz bottle at 10.30 I think because he weighs around 13lb.
With our dd now 2 1/2 we never dreamfed so we are not sure what to do next!
Any advice would be welcome!

hi - for our dd2 we always DF but the amount she takes really varies and always has. it is not something you can push - they will only take so much... we had many nights at that age where she took 3 oz maximum later on (3-4 mo) she still varied it but would take closer to 5-6 oz more often...
not much practical help i know, but just so you realize the amount he takes is really up to him - you could try waiting until 11pm and see if he will take an extra oz or 2.

Hi
I agree with Debra on this, the amount for a dream feed can vary from the amount they take in the day and can often be hit and miss. I would definitley try the DF a little later and see if that helps,
Let us know how you get on.
love
