My daughter, 3 1/2 months, used to sleep through but this last week she has started waking every hour and half. What gives?
oh, and I've already upped her ounces during daytime feeds incase it was b/c of hunger.
update:
Well the last 2 nights she has done better. Last night she woke at 6am, used binky to drift back off and then I had to wake her at 8:30. Before this whole sleeping issue happened, she used to wake at 6 then go back down for an hour or 2, so this is right back where we were. I've changed a few things, I stopped trying to get her to extend her 45 minute naps. Yesterday her sleeping patterns were more like they used to be. I let her take a 3 hour morning nap then the rest were all 45 min. I think with her getting older I became a little obsessed with getting her on a 4 hour easy and tried too hard to get her to change her naps. With extending her naps I think honestly she was just getting more quality daytime sleep than she needed. I get way too wrapped up in baby whispering that I sometimes forget to listen to my baby.
The other thing I changed was I had just put her up to 5oz and she would scream when I took the bottle away so I upped her up to 6oz, well it turns out that I was just overfeeding her. I've brought her back down to 5, started cereal, and she seems much happier. Now I just pop in the binky when she gets upset that the bottle is gone. It takes her a minute but then she is happy and spits it out to burp.
Just wanted to post what seems to be working for us. Course today we were out all day for Thanksgiving so she'll probably be back off track again. But at least now I know there's hope!
By the way, thank you everyone for your input!
