Warm solids

What does anyone know about giving babies warm solids?  At what age is this appropriate?  My lo just started solids and I buy organic jarred foods.  Once open, I put the jar in the fridge until next time.  Would warming foods make them more appetizing?  Granted, I don't think I'd warm pears, but sweet potatoes?  We eat sweet potatoes warm, wouldn't they like it that way too?  Then of course, there's cereal... wouldn't oatmeal be better warm too?

I would just go based on your baby's taste.  My kiddo actually does better with all his foods a little bit cold, so I just put the jar in the microwave for about 10 seconds, just to take a bit of the edge off.  Other kids might prefer it warmed, but the downside is that it is less convenient if you are on the road with a jar of baby food.  So I would just experiment.   :D

my little man eats/drinks everything cold too (his preference)...  which is a godsend when out and about.

Room temp is good for mine although I do sometimes heat her soups,  and stews becuase cold beef stew sounds a little grim. When I am out and about though I do not bother.

maybe it's just an old wives tale - but don't lo's get gas from eating things cold/not warmed up??  or harder for them to digest or something?..afterall breastmilk comes out warm so they are used to it..just a thought - or a question i guess..

HAve not had that experience myself and when Gigi was having just bottles I did not warm those up either. I stopped breastfeeding at 4 weeks; milk dired up so she has been having room temp 'food' since then. No problems to report.
