Skin Color Changing

So this may be an absolutely ridiculous question, but can some solids make your lo's skin turn colors?  We have noticed that ever since we started solids Taylor's nose has an orange tint to it.  It is very noticeable in pictures in fact.  We do feed her a lot of squash; pumpkin, sweet potato, yams, butternut, etc. and were wondering if this could affect her skin color?!?!

Any thoughts or am I being ridiculous!?!

Yes that is quite possibly the cause!!   (sorry to laugh  )

Stop feeding her orange coloured foods and she'll return to normal

HI!

I just posted about this!  Look at my DS's avitar!  His nose is ORANGE!

I had to switch him over to green veggies for a while.  The orange skin turns up when ever I give him any yellows to eat. (Even peaches can turn him a shade more yellow!)  The ped. said that it was all cosmetic, but if you're like me, you know that Christmas is coming up which means tons of pictures!  (And then you have to ask yourself, do I really want an orange kid in these pictures???)

So, I guess it's just going to be me, DH, and an Oompa-Loompa in the pics this year!  Ha!

Seriously, if you leave off the yellows for a while, everything will go back to normal.  (Unless your LO's stomach is hard.  Then it could be jaundice.)

Hugs to you!

LOL.  My DD loves carrots & squash & sweet potatoes and Ijust noticed today that her nose is orange.  I think it's adorable, and I am going to continue to feed her a variety, but I am going to try to add more greens.  At the moment she doesn't really like them, so we'll see.  Otherwise, we'll just all have to eat more carrots and turn orange to look like her! :D

sweet potatoes and peas are a good combination too - it gets them more into peas - also sweetcorn and greens

i've read that orange and yellow foods will turn the little ones skin an orangish shade.  simply add more green vegetables to their diet and it will go away.

i'm always worried andrew will get that too.

Hello.  Lindsey did this too.  It is not harmful for them however so if you want to keep feeding them it is ok.  It seems like almost every babyfood other than the peas and green beans are yellow or orange so there is not a lot of variety.  Lindsey would eat peas but not green beans.     All summer everyone said, "oh, she has such a nice tan" .

LOL everyone!

It's true there is not a huge variety of non orange foods, but i have been trying my best this past week to lay off a bit.  So far it seems to be working!

thanks everyone for the feedback!  :D
