help - teething/seperation anxiety/the cold????
« on: January 03, 2006, 09:18:29 am »
DS is just over 6mths old his sleeping hasn't been brilliant for the last month or so but over the last week it has got really bad.  During the night he won't settle for DH just cries until I go to him.  Last night DH brought him through to our room, crying after trying to settle him, I got out of bed took him walked to his bedroom with him on my shoulder and laid him in his cot but the covers on him and he went straight to sleep.  Could he be going through some kind of seperation anxiety?  He seems fine during the day.  He does seem to be teething and does have a cold, isn't hungry during the night just wakened and upset.  Have given him ibuprofen and chamomilla for the teething as well as teething gel.  I would really appreciate any of your advice - particularly about him needing me during the night.  Do we just go with this until the cold/teething pass or should I be doing something to get him back on track?

I think I would wait until he is feeling better.  When he feels yucky, Mommy is going to be what he wants.  Here's to swift recovery!

ugg, we are going through the same thing (cold, teething, night wakings). I too was wondering if I needed to start to get her back on track. I decided to take her to the dr. and if she was physically okay I would start the process. Turns out she has a double ear infection and sinus infection. If she needs extra snuggles at night during this time I am going to give them to her but when all clears up it's back to sleep training. JMHO!!
