Meg's mom or Taylor's mom.... help
« Reply #15 on: January 06, 2006, 06:05:06 am »
Last night, bedtime was 9:00 adb he finally fell asleep at 10pm. At this time farting around and moaning. Then woke again at 11, and stayed awake doing the same. I do usually feed him, but last resort unless I think he is hungry. The night before last he came unswaddled or he woke and I found him unswaddled. Tonight asleep by 7:15 and awake at 8pm. I listened to an hour of moaning, but he never cried. He finally fell asleep at 9pm and now awake again at 10pm. I will go feed him now because it would have been a dream feed anyway right?

I am sorry for the late response, but we had computer issues. Anyway, he normally plays around, grunts, mantra cry, and sometimes a little real cry (I try no to let it get to this, and if it does I go to him).  When he used to wake up I fed him. But that was when he only woke once a night. I started feeding every time he woke until he started waking so much. Now, I really dont know what to do. He doesnt like pat/shh, and he doesnt get that bad for pu/pd. In fact if I go in there it better be to pick him up because my presence just makes him cry or he thinks it is time to play.

He has been up EVERY night until at least midnight, but more often until 2:30 am. It seems that he thinks bedtime is another nap, and he isnt tired enough to sleep. He wakes up every hour until about 11pm and then up until 12-2:30 some where in there

He is soooooo overtired. I rocked him and slept in the rocker holding him just to extend his nap. One of his naps was only a half hour yesterday. This is he has never done. He was so clingy to me too. He would really cry EVERY time I put him down. No fever though, and I checked his body for owees.

I decided today to just let him sleep as long as he needs without waking him. He needs to catch up somehow, and if he is up all night well he will probably be up all night anyway. At least he may feel a little better. I just dont know what to do anymore.

Have you checked in the night waking sforum?  Honestly the issue at the moment that seems more pressing is the night wakings.  Also, have you spoken to his pediatrician about this?

I let Gage sleep as long as needed which was 7hrs of daytime sleep, and Gage slept from 9pm to 4 am. He did not even make a peep!  He was so tired. Tomorrow he will get his shots, so I am hoping we arent in for another rough 3 days. Anyway, while I am there I will talk to the doctor about how he has been the last couple of days. Thanks for the help.
Alice

Ps. We gave the aussie swaddle another go, and it works great! Gage loves it! One puzzle solved..... :D
