Hi
I'm new to the site and im not sure if this subject has come up before. My daughter has laryngomalacia (floppy voicebox) and i have found that it caused some problems with her sleeping on her back when she was born, and drinking milk,(little and often was all she could manage) and the noisy breathing also affected her sleep. Does anyone else have a child with this condition? I'd really be interested to know if it affected your child in any way, and what you did to overcome problems. i have both Tracy's books and am trying to incorporate her teachings, especiallly the P.U/ P.D. I have become a prop for my 8 month old who, due to her condition, always has preferred to be upright for sleeping, and hence i rocked her to sleep on my shoulder from the beginning. Big mistake!! As the condition is reducing, i am training her to sleep in the cot, but she still wakes up for milk, regardless of how many times i P.U/P.D. Last night she woke up at 11.30pm and i did P.U/P.D and she did go back to sleep but before i had even got to my bed she was awake and crying again. the whole cycle was repeated about 4 times until by 12.30 i gave her milk, she drank all 5 ounces and feel fast asleep till 5am. One other point - she is still in our room as we are in a one bedroom flat, which im sure doesnt help. Whew!!!
Any suggestions or comments would be welcome.
