Feeding Issues - 10 Mnth
« on: January 19, 2006, 13:45:00 pm »
Hi  :D I am new to the forum though not new to motherhood, but amazingly can't remember what I did with Paige as a baby!!
Right here goes.......Paige was a very easy baby - good sleeper, good eater. Enter Zoe now 10 months old!  Zoe has just recently popped 3 teeth and before was an okay/good eater and eating well off the spoon, I found that she gags if the food was too chunky/lumpy. She goes to creche during the day and is eating well there, howeverI am now battling to get her to eat dinner, she is fine if it is yoghurt, will take that no problem off the spoon - when I try and give her mashed veggies etc she will take one or two spoons and will refuse thereafter. I think she might be ready for some finger foods that she can feed herself. Any idea's / suggestions anyone might have in the way of finger food or getting her to eat her dinner again.

Hi!  My LO is 10.5 months old now and we've been working on finger foods as well these days.  Currently we do Cheerios (breakfast cereal, don't know if they have it by you), steamed veggies (broccoli, beans, peas, carrots) - just cut them real small and watch for choking, soft fruit (bananas, canteloupe), pasta (either smaller chapes or cut into small pieces), toast, shredded cheese...that's all I can think of right now.  Hope that gets you started!

My dd loves grapes (quartered), banannas, melons, peaches, and her most recent favorite is cottage cheese (large curd) it is messy but she loves being able to do it herself
