Tongue sticking!!

Hi- all going well with the solids now-she loves it all!!  Have something that I am just intrigued to know why she does it-  Izzy is now 6months old and is constantly sticking her tongue right out and down her chin.  I presume because she is learning most things through her mouth this is the reason. It doesn't go back in when touched with a finger- she acts like she is taking a bottle with the tongue motion.  Not concerned at all- just interested to know why- any ideas?

My guess is that it's just something new that she figured out how to do, so she's experimenting with it until it gets old. I remember Tyler doing something similar around 7 mo, only he stuck his tongue out and up his top lip. He was fascinated by it for awhile, then moved on to something else!

I agree - probably just trying it out.  My dd did that a lot about a month ago (coincidentally after getting her 1st 2 teeth on the bottom - I thought maybe she was trying to feel them?) - now she just does it occassionally.

Sounds about right- she is not doing it so much now- preferring to excercise her vocal chords with a new-found squeal instead! Oh happy days....!!
