Suggestions for wind-down activities for 11 week old
« on: February 09, 2006, 09:34:40 am »
I'm looking for suggestions for appropriate wind down activities for my 11 week old princess.  She's fairly textbook but I think I'm not allowing her enough time to wind down so would love some suggestions.

Thanks,
Ali

stories, songs, rhymes, a bath, a massage.... in a darkened room with no other distractions if you can (okay so not the bath!)

I used to sit my dd on my lap & sing softly or just talk with her.  If that didn't work, I'd walk around holding her.  It would work, but got old pretty quick - I'd use only when needed.  ;)

I find my dd likes the swing for wind-down :o If left in there for more than 10 minutes she would fall asleep. I put her in the swing 10 minutes before nap time, especially if she's been really excited during her A time. Then when she looks calm I pull her out and slowly walk around the house with her talking softly telling her she's going for a nice nap in her pretty room. She goes down in her crib awake and rarely cries about it.
