milk allergy?
« on: March 15, 2006, 15:52:05 pm »
Hi.

I have a little guy (will be one TOMORROW?!?!? :o) who's been a breastfed boy and we are starting cow's milk.  He doesn't take too much at a time, i mean, if he drinks an oz of it at a time, that's a lot. i notice that when he drinks it, his mouth breaks out a little. i've also noticed that when he eats mac. and cheese, the same thing happens...his poops are a lot runnier and stinkier which i expect for that the first little bit. Is it possible this will clear up or should i quit cows milk (and other milk products) altogether. I will also add that he can handle the milk content in the pureed jarred mac. and cheese but when i make it from a box and let him feed himself, that's when i note the reaction.

any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking allergy to the milk.  You might try lactose free milk and see if that helps.  Otherwise, a lot of moms here use soy or rice milk.
When you're soaring through the air, I'll be your solid ground.  Take every chance you dare.  I'll still be there when you come back down.
