Waking through the night
« on: March 20, 2006, 08:08:47 am »
Hi

Please can anyone help.  Joshi was sleeping through the night until about 1 month ago where he has started waking at random times crying for his dummy.  Normally when I go down and put his dummy in he goes back to sleep but is then normally awake again within a a couple of hours.  I was going to try wake to sleep but the times keep changing when he is waking up.  I have tried waiting but what starts as just a bit of a moan moves on to full on crying out.  Below is his routing

7.30                  Get up and 8oz bottle
8.00                  Ready Break and Fruit
9.30 - 11.00      Nap
12.00               Lunch meat and veg and pudding
1.00  - 2.30       nap
3.00                 8oz bottle
4.30                 Dinner
5.45                 Massage and Bath
6.30                 Bottle and Bed

I have noticed recently he has started to refuse his 3.00pm bottle

Please if anyone can help I would be really grateful

Thanks

Vicki

how old is your lo? are u sure it isn't gas/constipation or other tummy troubles as this was the problem with my lo when she started having random night wakings?  depending on how old he is - he still may need four daytime feeds...are u feeding at night??

you may want to try extending A time during the morning and pm.  my lo is 9 months also and stays up 2 1/2 to 3 hrs in the am before her nap, and definately 3hrs in the pm before her nap.  if you are going to extend A times though do it gradually 15 min at a time every few days - to find a happy medium for your lo.
i would still offer a feeding before 'lunch' even if he doesn't want to take it all imho.
