Johno loves jelly.  I make it from fruit and fruit juices with gelatine leaves.  When he was little, I used the baby fruit juices and warmed a bit to dissolve the gelatine then mixed it with more juice and some pureed fruit.  If you do decide to have a go, don't use pineapple, it won't set for some reason.  You can also do milk jellies to get milk AND fruit in them!

Blithering on about my jellies I didn't answer the question.  If you make it quite solid, then give it to them in cubes to start with.  Johno always loved the feel of it.  When they can use a spoon its a good spoon food because it makes rude noises when you try and get it out of the dish!

I gave Tyler sugar-free jelly when he was old enough for toast bits, pancake bits, and small pieces of sandwich.

Melissa, she is eating toast and sandwiches.

I don't know how she will take it, but I'll give it a go.

Thanks

Catherine loves jelly i have been giving it to her since 6 months. I haven't made my own yet as i bought in a jar so far but will make my own from now on. She use to have it for lunch with custard but now i give it to her as an afternoon snack if she wants one.

I always use leaves because they dissolve much easier.  Johno is just getting into 'cooking' since we made a fridge cake last week so we made jelly together today.

With the leaf gelatine, you don't have to warm the juice hardly at all so it was quite safe.  So for tea we had apple and raspberry jellies and I hand to sing jelly on a plate over and over til it was finished!

I ended up having to buy the sachets, couldn't find leaves in Morrisons.   I made my first jelly today with fruit juice and mixed chopped fruit.

It is really tasty  ;D
