cows milk
« on: May 01, 2006, 17:45:42 pm »
I know we don't give cows milk until they are a year old but I think I read that it is ok to use a little in cooking baby foods. I bought a jar of parsnip, cauliflower and potato and its mixed with cows milk. It says its suitable from 4 months. Is that right?

Its normally ok to use cows milk in foods, cooking, on cereal, etc from the age of 6 months so you may want to hold off a couple of weeks longer.  It can be given as a main drink from 1 year.

I didn't start DD on custard and yoghurt until after 6months and i didn't use it in cooking and on cereal until around 7months. So my advice would be to wait a little while longer.

Thanks everyone. I have actually tried DS with each of the ingredients separately but I think I'll wait until 6 months because of the cows milk.
