breastfeeder genius!
« on: May 04, 2006, 09:25:15 am »
I would also like to have a little brag about my breastfeeding. my son was 2wks premature and weighed only 5lbs 7oz. i was feeding every 1-2 hours and when he was weighed at 17 days old he had gone up to 7lbs 1oz. the last time he was weighed he was 6 weeks old and weighed 10lbs 13oz. so i think its safe to say were doing pretty good in that respect! :D

What is wonderful!!!!  Makes you feel so good everytime you see the scale go up due to "mommy's boobie milk" ;)  Keep up the good work!

 ;D hi and well done!

Our DS was 5 1/2 weeks prem and weighed 4lbs 9oz at birth.  Exclusively breast feeding him and watching him thrive has been the most rewarding experience, especially since it was difficult in the beginning.  William is now 8 1/2 months old, and still going strong! Although he is still small compared to other babies his age, he is on a better weight gain curve than the growth charts, and is well on his way to being 4 times his birth weight.  Such a great feeling of achievement.  In fact he does so well on his breast milk that introducing solids has been a bit of a challenge - he is simply so happy with his milk that he didn't need or want a lot of solid food, especially in the beginning.  So well done and keep up the great work!

Tania.
