crying every 10 mins, then falls back asleep!
« on: May 11, 2006, 18:53:53 pm »
my lo had her 2 month checkup yesterday (and we just got back from a week of vacation) so her schedule might be a little thrown off ;) but today she has been crying every 10 mins and then falls back asleep... she hasn't had really solid sleep all morning!
E 6:30
S 7:30
E 10:15 (she was so sleepy i let her go longer than usual)
S 10:55- cried, fussed for a while, seemed hungry
E 11:45 (gave her tylenol for the pain from shots)
S 12:25 (cried til 12:34, fell asleep til 1:07)
A/S since then (for 15 hours) (falls asleep, wakes up crying, falls asleep in a few mins, wakes up crying after 10 mins)

I don't want to go in bc it usually wakes her up and disturbs her, but she seems exhausted from all this waking and fitful sleeping.. any ideas??

thanks!

My guess would be that she is probablly just overtired from being off of her schedule. My lo has the same problem when I have to go somewhere and she misses a nap or only gets 20 minutes in, she sleeps very lightly and wakes often. Sometimes it is so bad that she won't even fall back to sleep.  It may take a bit, but once you get her back on schedule...things should settle back out.  :D

I agree with the above - sounds like overtired. Also - did she get her shots yesterday? If so, that could be it too.

yes, poor thing did get her shots.. might have been equally hard on me! i nearly cried. :( she is asleep now for the longest stretch in a while (for the past 20 mins) thank goodness. . i too think she is overtired. i would be.. after two days of traveling in the car then a day of grocery shopping and dr's visit!! (next time i need to plan a little better...)
thanks for the advice!

It's most likely the shots - working their way through her tiny system. My DD did the same thing after her 2 month shots. 4 months shots she had a super high fever - 6 month shots were not bad at all - about to do 9 month ones next week. Help her get as much sleep and fluids as possible - she'll likely be back to herself within 48 hours.

Also - I'd suggest giving her Tylenol every 4 hours if she has any fever or seems achy. I actually give Tylenol (now Motrin) 30 minutes before shots and bring a bottle for comfort afterward.

stillllll sleeping (thank goodness)... i am quiet as a mouse now hoping not to disturb her beauty sleep! i gave her tylenol yesterday at 4pm, and then again at 12 today (bc before then she seemed pretty happy and didn't feel warm) but by that point i think she was already worked up and tired (and prob achey) but now she is sound asleep, and i am going to let her rest until she wakes up! (forget that she ate almost 3 hrs ago... schedule shmedule) :) oh well.. hopefully lo will get back on track (and maybe i can do laundry and vacuuming tomorrow.. when shes not so touchy!)
thanks again :)
