Question about moving into own room and pacifiers
« on: May 18, 2006, 13:52:02 pm »
Hi,
I am planning to move my LO into his own room when he turns 6 months olds.  Before he moves into his own room, should I wean him off of his pacificer?  Sometimes he will wake up in the night if the pacifier drops out of his mouth.  LO has had that pacificer since his was 2 months old and he's not addicted to it as sometimes he pushes it out himself when he's in a deep sleep.  My problem is when he's not completely asleep that he wakes up looking for his paci.  I don't want to move LO into his own if it also means that I have to get up and go to his room to put his paci back in his mouth every time he loses.  DH says I will eventually have to ignore LO and let him CIO if he loses his paci.

Any suggestions on what to do with the paci before he moves into his own room?

if you want the paci gone before he's 6 months, this is worth checking out:

if you decide you don't want to get rid of the paci... then at first you probably will have to go to him.  but by 7 or 8 months he'll be able to put it back in on his own (especially if you leave a few in his crib  ;) )
