How Long Should Naps Be For 6/7 Month LO?
« on: May 19, 2006, 21:42:21 pm »
Hi I usually wake my DD after 1.5 hours on both naps.  Should I limit this more or let her sleep more??  Last week she wasn't napping well and that seemed to make her sleep longer in the morning but made her cry out during the night more.  Most of the time I have to wake her but then every couple weeks we hit a bad 2-3 days for naps.

This is our ideal routine

may wake from 5-7am
7:30am>>Bottle 7-8oz
8:30/45>>Solids
9:30>>Nap
11>>Have to wake her up
11:30>>Bottle 7-8oz
12:45>>Solids
2>>Nap
3:30>>Have to wake her up
3:30>>Bottle 7-8 oz
5:00>>Solids
6:30>>Bath (if bath night)
7>>Bed routine>>Bottle
7:30>>In bed awake

any suggestions would be great thanks!!!

Thanks, so it looks like I need to limit more.  I feel so bad waking her up  :'(  but I guess if it helps with night time sleep  ;)

Why does it change?  For 6 months it says 2 naps=2.25 hrs (1hr morn/1.25 afternoon)>>>>9 months 2 naps=3hrs (1.5 each)

Plus she isn't sleeping 12 hrs at night should I still limit naps more then?

Sorry for so many questions I just want to get the best for both of us and make sure she is sleeping enough  ::)

At this age my DD was doing 3.5hrs during the day and 12hrs at night. Enjoy it while it lasts as at 8months my DD dropped to 11/11.5hrs at night and now only 2.5-3hrs during the day. She has always slept more than was recommended up until just recently.

Yeah I do like that she is a pretty good sleeper (now).  She only gets 10-11 hrs at night though.  I will just have to wait for the next phase as it always seems to be something new as far as sleep goes.
