What solids were you feeding at 5.5 months?
« on: May 21, 2006, 14:51:34 pm »
I have been feeding my 5.5 mos girl 2 tablespoons of cereal mixed with pears every evening.  Tomorrow I will start feeding her 2x a day.  When she turns 6 mos in a couple of weeks I will start feeding her vegetables.  What was your feeding schedule for your 5.5 mos old baby and when did you introduce water?  I'm thinking about giving it to her in sippy cup when she turns 6 mos.  Also, how did you feed cereal and solids/

at 5 MO i was giving my DS rice, oatmeal, pears, apples and bananas, also veggies like carrots, sweet potatoes, chayote. I didn't give him water yet...

his schedule was something like this:

7:30 bottle
8:30 breakfast 3tsp of oatmeal with formula, and whatever new food we were trying
12:00 bottle
4:00 bottle
5:30 dinner 3tsp of rice with formula, and either pears or apples.
7:30pm bottle
11pm DF

i did try to give him the sippy cup too, but he just played with it, i guess it just helps if she sees it around at mealtimes...

i feed cereal and solids in his highchair, so that he can get used to the idea that meals are in the dinning room on his chair.

hope this helps
