When do I intervene?
« on: June 12, 2006, 15:09:10 pm »
I was wondering if my lo wakes up early from her nap (she's napped for just over an hour) and starts playing quietly in her crib should I intervene and try to get ther back to sleep?  She woke up after about 70 minutes today and started to play quietly (with her hands and blanket) and talk to herself.  I left her alone to see if she would go back to sleep, she sometimes does on her own.  Anyway she played for almost 1/2hour before she started fussing, so by this time her nap time was over.  Should I intervene as soon as I hear her stir, or should I let her alone to see if she's going to get back to sleep on her own?

p.s. I am using w2s and it's working quite well most times.

I always considered anything one hour and over a great nap. Sure sometimes I wanted more but an hour plus is considered restful and restorative and as long as your LO is waking happy and seems rested enough no reason to intervene. I think it's perfect to let her play for a little while in there until either she fusses or you want to get her up (whichever comes first) and go from there!
