I am dancing in the street I am soooo happy!  My little guy (5 1/2 months old) finally started rolling over in his crib and is getting comfy with sleeping on his tummy!!  Yesterday he took a 1.45 minute nap on his tummy in the morning before I had to finally wake him to get to my older son's swim class.  Then in the afternoon he took a 2.20 nap on his tummy.  He was rested, I was rested, we all were happy!  He's not quite used to falling asleep on his own in that position, so I have been helping along with a pat/shush on his bottom and that seems to really work.  As I recall from my older son it takes a week or so before they get comfortable with this new position.  But the payoff is huge - a well-rested baby who is finally getting the sleep he needs!  We knew this would help him and were tempted to flip him over ourselves to get him to do it, but I'm glad we waited for him to do it as I had just read an article in Parents Magazine that the rate for SIDS goes up when parents do the flipping over before the baby is ready.  Today's morning nap wasn't as stellar (one hour), but it's much better than the 35-40 minutes he had been getting!  I guess the drawback is he was up at 5:30 this morning, ready for the day.  I guess we just need to strike the right balance of sleep to make everyone happy.

Hooray for tummy sleeping!

I didn't realize that tummy sleep helped them stay asleep better.  Good to know.
I am so in love with my husband and adore my precious Grace
