Please help us,

We have been doing EASY since my DD was 8 weeks old and doing great. She is now 7 months and we have hit a hurdle. Namely EATING. She wont drink her bottle

schedule
7 awake
wont eat until around 7.30, taking 2-3 attempts to take bottle, now only drinking around 6oz
8am cereal
9.30 - 11.00 sleep

11.15 bottle, again takes up to an hour to drink bottle, then only takes around 5 oz
12.30 vegies or yoghurt
2.00 - 3.30 sleep

4 - bottle will usually take all this bottle - 8 oz
5 - vegies

If no afternoon nap, bed time routine starts at 6, bath, book, bottle (5oz)  and bed by 6.30
If she has an afternoon nap, bed time routine starts at 7, in bed by 7.30

OK, so what I need help with is that she is fighting me at every feed. She never seems to be hungry for her bottle. Usually she will bite the teat or just push the bottle away. Does EASY change as they get older? should I try giving her the bottle every 5 hours instead? Should I decrease the amount of solids I am giving her? (she has 3 meals of around 3-4 tblspns)

I would have thought that if her last bottle is at 7, she would be hungry for a bottle by 7 not fighting it.

Over the last 4 weeks I have tried different formulas (has been on thickened due to reflux) different bottles, different teats all to no avail.

What do I do? I am in tears nearly everyday because of the fight we have.

Clare just a quickie baecause I am working!

Your not doing anything wrong and your LO is probably frustrated because your offering at 11.15am and she isn't wanting her bottle.

Try offering 3 bottles:

0730
1330
Usual bedtime

You may find over a few days that the intake will increase, remember and top up any bottles that are getting drained constistantly.

I had this problem recently and realized that my lo was still using the infant flow nipple - she was getting frustrated and not wanting to make so much effort to eat. I switched to a faster flow and it helped.
