My 9-month old ds has been having trouble staying asleep the last few days.  He goes down as usual, then within 15 minutes or so he wakes up crying.  When i go in, it seems he is upset because his paci fell out, so I replace it.  Am I starting a bad habit?  He's been using it for months without waking up when it fell out, now he wakes up several times within the first hour of his sleep.  Below is his schedule:

7am BF
815am -830am breakfast
9am - 930am goes down for nap
11am -1130am BF
1230pm-1pm lunch
230pm - 3pm goes down for nap
4-430pm BF
530pm-6pm dinner
7pm BF then straight to bed for the night

He has been sleeping in a crib since 8 weeks old.

Any ideas?  Is it time to wean him off the paci?

Thanks,

Lori

Ditto to Stacy - at 9 mo. he should be able to replace it himself, assuming that he can find it.

Yes, he has been doing this for the afternoon nap and at night for the last few nights (but not last night - hurray!).  I will try putting extra pacis in with him for the naps to see if it works.  I did that last night, but I'm not sure if he ever found them.
When he is awake now, he has started getting upset when I leave his sight.  It may be that he isn't feeling well, but he doesn't have a fever, so I'll wait and see before calling doc.
