Daycare and EASY
« on: August 11, 2006, 12:11:35 pm »
Ok, DS started daycare on Monday (he is 4 months).  He was on a great 4 hour easy when we started.  Now, not so much.

Daycare has him eating every four hours and he is not getting hungry early.  He is a bf baby so it is important to me that he eats consistently so I know how much to provide (currently eating 5 ounces twice a day at daycare - the rest of the feedings are from me)

Problem is naps.  They are laying him down at the appropriate time but he is only sleeping for 30 to 45 minutes.  This puts him on EASAEASA.  They say he wakes up happy and is content and just wants to look around the room.  I wouldn't be as bothered except that when I had family watching him, he took better naps.  I got two hours of activity time with him in the evenings before he went to sleep.  Now, I get maybe 45 minutes and he is tired even during that time.

It is his first week in daycare and he is getting use to sleeping in a well lit room with other babies around making noice.  I know this is an adjustment.  Mainly I wanted to see if any of you have experienced this and if it got better after a couple of weeks.  With it being his first week I don't want to be too hard on the healthcare provider.  Any support is appreciated.

Thanks - the support really helps.  I am sure that he will adjust better over a bit of time (and so will dh and I :-\ )  Hopefully he will naturally just start getting use to the noise and will sleep a little longer.
