Beata - I think I am actually going to start a new thread since this really isn't a question of him soothing himself to sleep rather that he just can't stay asleep. I will answer all the questions there. Don't worry about letting him CIO, I just can not physically do it. I am even having a very difficult time trying WI/WO and have decided to just stick to PD and GW for now. My son is very spirited and he just works himself up way too much for me to walk out.
