Something silly
« on: August 17, 2006, 00:23:56 am »
My dd goes to bed at 7pm.  We usually don't hear from her until about 5am for a feed. Well right at 8:00pm she woke up crying.  We got a burp out of her, laid her down, and she began cooing, smiling and kicking about.  Is this a normal occurrence for them to wake up and be energized like this after just a little bit of time?  What should we do if this continues to happen?  We turned on her Baby Einstein aquarium that plays music and has lights as we didn't want to take her out of her crib to 'play' since it is bedtime.  We'll see if she goes back to sleep.

Thanks.
Mel

That happens to us every once in awhile and it also happens right after the dreamfeed.  My DS is up right now and it's 1:30am.  We usually check on DS to make sure he's ok and just leave him alone.  We hear him cooing and kicking about but we ignore it so that he doesn't get stimulated or think we want to play.  DS will always falls a back asleep usually in an hour.

My DS used to do that too when he was about 4 months... it was as if the little catnap of sleep was just enough to recharge his batteries. Soooo annoying!  ;)
